Training, Education and Development (TED)
Opens 29 Feb 2024 12:00 AM (GMT)
Description

CW+ is dedicated to recognising the important role of all Trust staff, and offers funding for training courses, conferences, and learning opportunities that are not part of mandatory training. The aim is to support professional development that enhances practice and patient care.

Funding scope

Applications are sought from staff wishing to undertake education and development opportunities outside of their own hospital, or to bring in specialist trainers to share and disseminate best practice. Activities must be outside of the mandatory and non-essential training for their role. Study leave or backfill won’t be considered.

We will review applications for up to £2,000. Applications must be made at least a month in advance of the activity. Funding for retrospective activities will not be considered. Requests will be limited to one application only per staff member per financial year.

We can only accept one application for supporting one specific module of a health-related Master’s programme. It is essential that the applicant demonstrates how the knowledge from that module will be used in their current position.

The charity will consider funding a maximum of two places at the same conference from employees in the same department.

If applying for travel/accommodation, all other funding options within the Trust would need to be approached first. If awarded, we will book transport/accommodation for you using the Trust's booking system – Click Travel.

The Best Family made a generous gift to establish a dedicated training and development fund to support staff in the Paediatric Emergency Department at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. CW+ committed an equivalent level of funding to support staff training and development needs of paediatric emergency staff at West Middlesex University Hospital, establishing the Best Family Fund. If you are a staff member from Paediatric ED looking for funding for training and development, please select the option at the beginning of the form.

Am I eligible?

We will consider applications from all patient-facing staff, clinical or non-clinical, employed by the Foundation Trust on permanent contracts (fixed-term and honorary will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis). Bank staff are not eligible.

How to apply

Click 'Apply' and complete the form. You will need to get your line manager's endorsement. Please note that the process can take a few weeks, so it is advised to apply as early as possible.

Applications will be assessed on a rolling basis both internally at CW+ and by a Trust committee (Deputy Chief Nurse – Nicola Rose, Chief Financial Officer – Virginia Massaro, Deputy Director of Learning & Organisational Development – Laura Brown, Deputy Director of Nursing – David Bushby, Medical Education Programme Manager – Christine Catlin).
