CW+ is dedicated to recognising the important role of all Trust staff and offers funding for training courses, conferences and learning opportunities that are not part of mandatory training. The aim is to support professional development that enhances practice and patient care.
Funding Scope
Applications are sought from staff wishing to undertake education and development opportunities outside of their own hospital, or to bring in specialist trainers to share and disseminate best practice. Activities must be outside of the mandatory and non-essential training for their role. Study leave or backfill will not be considered.
We will review applications for up to £2,000. Applications must be made at least one month in advance of the activity. Funding for retrospective activities will not be considered. Requests will be limited to one application per staff member per financial year.
We can only accept one application to support a specific module of a health-related Master's programme. Applicants must clearly demonstrate how the knowledge gained from the module will be applied in their current role.
The charity will consider funding a maximum of two places at the same conference from employees within the same department.
The Best Family made a generous gift to establish a dedicated training and development fund to support staff in the Paediatric Emergency Department at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. CW+ committed an equivalent level of funding to support the training and development needs of paediatric emergency staff at West Middlesex University Hospital, establishing the Best Family Fund. If you work in Paediatric ED and are seeking funding for training and development, please select this option at the beginning of the application form.
The CW+ Research Travel Fund supports Trust staff who are registered for an MSc or PhD and require funding for research-related travel. Funding of up to £2,000 per financial year is available to support activities such as attendance at research conferences, presentation of research findings, or travel directly linked to research projects conducted at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Eligible costs may include conference registration, travel, accommodation, poster printing and other reasonable associated expenses. Applicants must hold a current Trust contract, be presenting or disseminating research undertaken at the Trust, and obtain endorsement from their line manager. If you meet the eligibility criteria and are seeking funding for research-related travel, please select this option at the beginning of the application form.
